Admission to the Undergraduate Studies Program

To be considered a candidate for BSSW program, an applicant must:
 

  • Earn at least 91 credit hours of course work
  • Obtain a cumulative grade point average of 2.00 (based on a 4.00 system)
  • Must have successfully completed the GEC and pre-professional requirements

The admission criteria must be met prior to beginning the BSSW Program autumn quarter. In addition to the above criteria, the following factors will be taken into consideration:
 

  • Motivation to social work values
  • Knowledge of social work
  • Personal readiness for professional social work education

Admission into the professional Undergraduate Studies Program is selective. All prospective students must file an application with the College of Social Work beginning in December of the year prior to enrolling in major coursework.

  • The 2010 application will be available in December. Please check in December for the current application. 

All students applying to the program must submit their applications by March 15. Applications received beyond the deadline will be considered only if space permits.

Applicants transferring into the BSSW Program from another university must successfully complete the application process to The Ohio State University as well as to the College of Social Work.
